If you've tried producing your own videos, you may have encountered some or all of the following problems:

For these reasons, we've designed a 3-tier training course for businesses, that provides the knowledge and skills to plan, film, edit and share your own high quality and engaging video productions.

LEVEL 1

Course outline

An essential foundation of knowledge, skills and practical experience to plan, produce, edit and publish consistently good quality video 'direct to camera' and 'off camera' interviews and personal presentations.
The course will include 'hands on' practical experience with a range of professional video and audio production equipment which will be provided by us for the duration of the training.


Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Structure and focus all content creation
• Describe relevant technologies, standards and formats
• Prepare powerful scripts, storyboards / shot lists and logs
• Apply the principles of good story telling
• Prepare key production equipment and resources required
• Practice good compositional framing and depth of field
• Correctly interpret exposure and focus assistance tools
• Light an interview scene
• Record clean and clear sound with appropriate equipment selection for the scene
• Organise captured video footage
• Cut, crop, title and transition clips
• Add music and sound effects
• Share completed videos in an appropriate size and format.

LEVEL 2

Course outline

An optional add-on component to level 1 that introduces more skill and creativity in production and post-production for 'B Roll' segments and more dynamic productions. It also introduces wireless audio technology and explains how to set up and use a teleprompter.

The course will include 'hands on' practical experience with a range of professional video and audio production equipment which will be provided by us for the duration of the training.

NB.. Delegates must complete level 1 before attending level 2.


Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Record sound from wireless audio equipment directly to camera
• Use an external sound recorder
• Record fast motion (time-lapse / hyper lapse) video
• Record dynamic slow motion
• Set up and use a teleprompter for scripted presentations
• Synchronise externally recorded sound in the video editor
• Make adjustments to sound recordings inside the video editor
• Describe at least 3 creative video cuts in the editor
• Make corrections to video exposure in the editor

LEVEL 3

Course outline

An optional add-on component aimed at those who want to take their audio and video productions to the next level, with advanced audio processing techniques, multi-cam productions, smooth camera movements, colour grading, and using a green screen.

The course will include 'hands on' practical experience with a range of professional video and audio production equipment which will be provided by us for the duration of the training.

NB.. Delegates must complete levels 1 & 2 before attending level 3.


Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• Set up and light a green screen
• Obtain a clean chroma key in the editing program
• Set up a multi-cam video interview
• Synchronise and edit from multiple camera angles in the editing program
• Create dynamic and smooth shots using a slider, jib and a motorised gimbal
• Apply video effects, dynamic cuts and transitions
• Accurately describe log gamma and apply LUTS to clips
• Create powerful audio mixes in a dedicated audio editing program using advanced audio processing tools and techniques.
